Electricity and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera says that the charge sheet related to the removal of the chairman of the Public Utilities Commission has been prepared.
Attending a special press conference held today (29), the minister mentioned that the related legal work is currently being done.
The Minister who further commented,
“The necessary legal proceedings against the chairman of the Public Utilities Commission and the charge sheet for his removal have been prepared by now. All the representatives of the ruling party in the parliament have expressed their agreement for this. Because Janaka Ratnayake’s sole opinion, I will not say the Public Utility Commission from here on, has done these things for the past . The person named Janaka Ratnayake is pushing the whole country against the wall and is responsible for this electricity cut. No one else is responsible for this electricity cut. Therefore, there are necessary provisions in the parliament on how to work for this.”
Meanwhile, Janaka Rathnayake, chairman of the Public Utilities Commission, says that he is looking forward to facing the charge sheet presented by the Minister of Electricity Kanchana Wijesekera against him.
