The Jaffna police say that 31 people including 25 women and 6 men have been arrested after a clash that took place on the night of the 29th in Jaffna. (Sri Lanka Latest News)
This conflict has arisen based on an incident where two young men posted a video of a woman on a social media.
The two youths were injured and the conflict escalated when they went to the hospital.
However, the police tried to control the situation and later fired in the air to calm the situation to some extent.
A police officer was also injured due to the clash and he is receiving treatment at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
The police said that more suspects are to be arrested.
