An investigation has been initiated by the Kandy Election Office into allegations that several Samurdhi Managers from the Kandy District, reportedly affiliated with the National People’s Power, attended a political meeting during working hours.

According to sources at the Kandy Election Office, these managers allegedly attended the meeting under the pretext of official matters such as agricultural committee work, loan inquiries, and investment activity investigations, which were cited in their exit documents.

The report further indicates that some of these managers had applied for election-related duties prior to attending the meeting.

The Kandy Election Office has informed the Director General of Samurdhi about the incident and is awaiting an official report on the matter.

The meeting in question took place at a hotel in the Wellspark area of Kandy.
