India has announced its readiness to provide helicopters to support rescue operations for people affected by the ongoing disaster in Sri Lanka.
The Indian aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, is currently anchored at Colombo Port, and the helicopters onboard are expected to be deployed for these rescue efforts.
Reports indicate that this assistance follows a formal request made by the Sri Lankan government through the Indian High Commission in Colombo.
