A meeting was recently held between Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha and a group of political leaders representing Northern and Eastern political parties.

During the discussion, the High Commissioner urged the political parties from the North and East to unite and contest the upcoming parliamentary elections under a common agreement.

Furthermore, the High Commissioner emphasized that the Indian government is prepared to collaborate with the current president of Sri Lanka.

He also highlighted to Tamil political parties the importance of ensuring that the Tamil community benefits from the political developments focused on the North and East regions.

Speaking to the media in Vavuniya today (02), Selvam Adeikkalanathan stressed that Tamil political parties should not operate independently but instead work collectively.

The Indian High Commissioner expressed his hope that a unified Tamil political alliance would secure more seats in the upcoming general elections by reaching a strong consensus.
