Parents who came in bus loads for Children raid a provincial chief secretary’s office and seek solutions.

Parents of Anuradhapura Rabewa Kede Kallanchiya Maha Vidyalaya today (08) raided the North Central Provincial Head Office demanding solutions to the shortage of teachers.

That is because there are currently 14 teachers in the school that should have 25 teachers for 370 children studying from 1st to 13th year.

Later, the Anuradhapura Police who came to the place allowed 10 parents to hold a discussion with the Chief Secretary of the North Central Province.

North Central Province Chief Secretary Chandrasiri Bandara said that there is a shortage of 3900 teachers in his province.

A heated situation arose when the parents said that the teachers in the school closest to their school were redundant.

There, the education authorities accepted that the teachers of the adjacent school were redundant and after the Provincial Chief Secretary verbally promised that three of them would be given to this school within a week, the crowd dispersed. In an environment where financial payment is also made.
