Illegal detention, no records of detention, severely abused inside the police station: a tangle of mysteries surrounds the death millionare business women’s maid in Rajagiriya.

Investigations conducted by the Special Investigation Unit of the Police are revealing that the maid who died mysteriously while being arrested by the Welikada Police on suspicion of a theft at the house of a well-known television drama producer and millionaire businesswoman, was assaulted by the police.

Also, the investigation revealed that the maid was arrested and detained by the police, but she was illegally detained without any note regarding her arrest. The Police Special Investigation Unit has initiated an investigation on the order of the Inspector General of Police regarding the mysterious death of the maid who was arrested for a theft at Mrs. Sudarma Netthi Kumara’s house in police custody. That is taking into account the information received by the Inspector General from various parties and intelligence agencies that there is a suspicion regarding her death.

Also, the investigation revealed that the maid was arrested and detained by the police, but she was illegally detained without any note regarding her arrest. The Police Special Investigation Unit has initiated an investigation on the order of the Inspector General of Police regarding the mysterious death of the maid who was arrested for a theft at Mrs. Sudarma Netthi Kumara’s house in police custody. That is taking into account the information received by the Inspector General from various parties and intelligence agencies that there is a suspicion regarding her death.

Police information revealed that the officers of Welikada police arrested her illegally, detained her at the police station, beat her and questioned her about a lost gold ring belonging to Mrs. Sudarma Netthi Kumara. The police information also revealed that when she said that she did not steal anything, the police officers assaulted her. According to police information, she was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital after she became unconscious due to the beatings, stating that she was having trouble breathing.

Initially, the Welikada police said that she was taken to the hospital after suffering from breathing difficulties while being arrested, where she died. The Colombo Medical Examiner has given an open verdict regarding her death. It is said that her body parts have also been sent to the taster. Was her death due to police assault? Otherwise, it has not yet been clearly revealed whether the fear caused by the police attack or any other medical condition has worsened. But it is clear that her death took place after she was illegally arrested and detained in police custody and assaulted by the police, said a senior police officer.

According to police sources, information has now been revealed that a high-ranking police officer from the west has pressured the Welikada police to somehow find this ring.
