According to police information, she was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital after she became unconscious due to the beatings, stating that she was having trouble breathing.
Initially, the Welikada police said that she was taken to the hospital after suffering from breathing difficulties while being arrested, where she died. The Colombo Medical Examiner has given an open verdict regarding her death. It is said that her body parts have also been sent to the taster. Was her death due to police assault?
