Students of the University of Kelaniya and Ragama medical faculty who went on hiking to Hantana hills have gone missing and police parties have launched a massive search operation to relocate the missing undergrads the police headquarters informs.
According to the police, about 180 students had travelled from the Hanthana Institute of Basic Studies area yesterday morning to climb the Hanthana mountain range.
The police said that the students were unable to find the roads due to heavy rain and darkness while returning from Hantana Hill in the evening.
However, all the 180 students of Ragama Medical Faculty who were lost in the Hantana mountain range were rescued.
