Headline inflation, as measured by the annual change in the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI, 2021=100), continued its downward trend for the fourth consecutive month. In December 2024, the index recorded a deflation of 1.7%, a slight improvement compared to the 2.1% deflation observed in November 2024. This development aligns with the short-term inflation forecasts projected by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
