Have we carried out our promises? The latest report on human rights in Sri Lanka will be released today in Geneva!

The Interim Review Report prepared by the United Nations Human Rights Council on the human rights situation in Sri Lanka will be released today (01).
Minister of Foreign Affairs President’s counsel y Mr. Ali Sabri said that this report will be released in Geneva.

This report includes the observations of the United Nations Human Rights Council regarding the steps taken by the government regarding the promotion of human rights in Sri Lanka since 2017.

The Minister stated that the report to be released today includes the facts that the government voluntarily agreed to regarding the promotion of human rights in Sri Lanka, as well as the way in which the sub-measures given by the Human Rights Council have been implemented.

At the time of the release of the report, a group of officials have already gone to Geneva to present facts on behalf of Sri Lanka.

It includes a group of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the President’s Office and the Attorney General’s Department.
