It has been learned that Mr. Neel Bandara Hapuhinna, the secretary of the Ministry of State Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, sent a letter this morning to all the district secrearies not to accept the deposit money of the candidates in relation to the local government election.
Mr. Hapuhinna, who has responded to Hiru Channel’s inquiry in this regard, has stated that he has taken steps to recall the letter.
