Two unidentified gunmen opened fire outside a dried fish merchant’s residence in the Thalpawila area of Devinuwara.

The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. on January 12, with no casualties or injuries reported.

The assailants, arriving on a red motorcycle, fired shots using a pistol. The gunfire took place as one of the men approached the gate under the pretense of wanting to purchase dried fish.

The gunfire struck the wall near the gate, and the assailants also removed the spent bullet casing, according to police reports.

Authorities have identified the motorcycle used by the gunmen. The Gandara Police are continuing their investigations into the incident.
