Government revenue increased but no money for elections  I Sri Lanka Latest News

According to Central Bank reports, the budget deficit for the first five months of the year from January to May has exceeded one trillion rupees. Sri Lanka Latest News

According to Central Bank reports, during the relevant period, government revenue has increased by 38%. The government’s income for the relevant period last year was 812.7 billion rupees. This year it has increased to 1.1 trillion rupees.

Looking at government expenditure, government expenditure has increased by 47% this year.

Last year’s government expenditure for the relevant period was 1.45 trillion rupees, and this year it has increased to 2.13 trillion rupees.

Due to the difference between the government’s income and expenditure, the budget gap for the first five months of this year has increased to 1.01 trillion rupees. The budget deficit was 636.7 billion rupees during the relevant period last year.
