The government has agreed to pay the electricity bill calculated to the 10 days of the Esala Maha Perehara street parade in Kandy. Sri Lanka Latest News
It was during a discussion held in the Dalada Maliga meeting premises recently regarding the activities of the parade.
Earlier, the government had submitted an estimate of one crore thirty two lakhs for the electricity bill of Dalada Maliga and Satara Dewala and had issued a notice to settle it.
But the Basnayake Nilames of Satara Maha Devala had informed that such an amount could not be settled, and that such a thing had never happened before.
Accordingly, it has been learned that the government has agreed to reduce the electricity bill of one crore thirty two lakhs to seventy one lakhs and settle the amount.
