Last week, the Government’s Chief Organizer, Minister Nalinda Jayatissa, extended a special invitation to the main opposition party, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), requesting their support to strengthen efforts to combat drug trafficking and underworld activities in the country.

Speaking in Parliament, Minister Jayatissa emphasized that since the Samagi Jana Balawegaya currently has no connections with underworld criminals or drug traffickers, he was extending an open invitation to the party to actively support the government’s initiatives in this regard.

In response, representatives of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya affirmed that the party would unconditionally support any program implemented to eradicate drug trafficking and the underworld.

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya further informed the government in Parliament that it should proceed without any hesitation in taking necessary measures to address these issues.
