The government has made the decision to terminate the services of Excise Commissioner General M. Gunasiri with immediate effect, following his disregard for the directives of the Committee on Methods and Procedures, chaired by Member of Parliament Patali Champika Ranawaka.
Cabinet Spokesman Minister Vijitha Herath announced that the Cabinet approved the proposal brought forward by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his capacity as the Minister of Finance.
