Election monitoring organizations have jointly sent a letter to the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Mahinda Siriwardena.
That is requesting for the release of money for the local government elections.
Pafrel Organization, Electoral Violence Monitoring Center, Democratic Reforms and Election Studies Institute, Transparency International Sri Lanka, Movement for Free and Fair Elections, Lakbime Mothers and Daughters and Election Monitoring Center have forwarded the letter together.
They point out in the letter to support by releasing relevant funds for the holding of elections which is a fundamental element of people’s sovereignty.
