A fundamental rights petition was filled in the Supreme courts to prevent former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse, former finance minister Basil Rajapakse, former Central bank governors Ajith Nivard Cabral, W.D Laxman preventing them leaving the island without Supreme courts permission.
The petition to Supreme courts was filled by the transparent international and some civil activists some time ago and the date fixed for consideration was on the 27th July.
Due to the prevailing situation in the country, they have informed the courts to consider this petition on the 14th, as it is known when these people flee the country. If that happens, it will be a great loss to the country, the petitioners note.
