The stars of Sri Lanka and India have been big movers in the latest MRF Tyres ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings following the completion of their three-match one-day series in Pallekele.

While India registered a 3-0 series sweep during the dominant 50-over series, it was Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu who made the biggest impression on the top 10 list for batters.

Athapaththu scored a quickfire 44 in the final match of the series last week and that saw the talented 32-year-old rise two spots to eight on the rankings update that was released by the ICC on Tuesday.

Nilakshi de silva

Sri Lanka team-mate Nilakshi de Silva hit an unbeaten 48 in the same match and was rewarded with a jump of 10 spots to 47th on the rankings for batters, while India captain Harmanpreet Kaur moved up one place to 13th following her superb 75.

Shafali Verma

India duo Shafali Verma (jumps three places to 33rd) and Pooja Vastrakar (up eight spots to 53rd) also saw their rankings boosted, while South Africa batter Chloe Tryon was the big mover following the Proteas match against England in Northampton.

Tryon top-scored with 88 for South Africa and shot up 12 places on the latest rankings for batters to 22nd overall behind Australia’s Alyssa Healy.

Healy’s lead at the top was cut though, with England star Nat Sciver rising to a career best rating of 752 points and within 33 rating points of Healy following her half-century against South Africa.

There was also some movement inside the top 10 for bowlers too, with India spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad and England veteran Katherine Brunt jumping up to share ninth on the latest rankings.

Gayakwad collected impressive figures of 3/36 in the final match of the ODI series against Sri Lanka to rise two places, while Brunt three-wicket haul catapulted her three places and inside the top 10.

Brunt also moved up one spot to ninth on the rankings for all-rounders, with England team-mate Sophie Ecclestone rising two places to equal 10th on the same list.(Curtesy ICC cricket com)
