It is reported that former Minister Basil Rajapaksa has arrived at Katunayake Airport to leave for America.

Last July 9th, he arrived at the Katunayake airport in the morning to leave for America, but due to public protest, Mr. Basil Rajapaksa canceled his trip to America.

He was also suspended from traveling abroad due to a case assigned to the court.

However, recently the court ban was relaxed and he was given the necessary facilities to go abroad until January.

Accordingly, he who has arrived in Katunayake by now, is going to leave first for Dubai and then for America in an Emirates flight.

It is a special event that Mr. Basil Rajapaksa left the country after 37 MPs from Pohottuwa were sworn in as state ministers.
