Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Sri Lanka Latest News reports.
The arrest is linked to ongoing investigations into the attack on the Galle Face protest.
Meanwhile, Tennakoon had submitted a bail application seeking to avoid arrest and obtain conditional bail. However, the application was rejected when he was produced before Fort Magistrate Nilupuli Lankapura today (20).
