The Ratnapura Magistrate’s Court has ordered the remand of former Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) Director, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Neville Silva, until December 13.
Mr. Silva was apprehended by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Police Field Force Headquarters prior to being produced in court today (10).
The CID launched an investigation into Mr. Silva following a complaint filed in August 2023, alleging that he acted in a manner favorable to the complainant’s interests.
Subsequent inquiries revealed that Mr. Silva was involved in aiding and abetting an incident involving kidnapping and unlawful confinement, leading to his arrest and remand.
