Fever everywhere! A new corona variation?

The medical association says that the flu that is spreading these days may be a new variant of the Covid virus.

Dr. Vinya Ariyaratne, President of the Sri Lanka Medical Association, said that depending on the nature of the disease, there may be different varieties.

“Such is the nature of this disease. New varieties are emerging. We don’t really understand the varieties. It takes time to analyze the varieties and get their reports. In every country like Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, more Covid patients are reported. But we need not worry. Especially since it spreads like influenza, it is difficult to distinguish them from Covid, so it is essential that we follow the same health safety measures that were followed during the Covid period. It is especially important to wear a face mask properly.”

The Sri Lanka Medical Association states that several viral diseases are spreading due to the ongoing rainfall.

The association points out that since the symptoms of these viral diseases are the same, it is difficult to distinguish them from each other.
