Mr. AHM Fauzi has taken the oath of office as a Member of Parliament.
After the Parliament meeting today (09), Mr. Fauci took the oath in front of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
Mr. A. H. M. Fauzi has taken the oath of office of the Member of Parliament, which was vacant due to the resignation of Mr. Mujibar Rahman of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya party.
Mr. Mujibar Rahman recently resigned from his position as a Member of Parliament in order to contest the local government elections this year.
In the last general election, Samagi Janabalawega won 06 seats from Colombo district, of which Mr. A. H. M. Fauzi had 48,701 votes.
Accordingly, he was ranked 07th in the preference list.
Mr. A.H.M Fauzi, who is also a former mayor of Colombo, is now 85 years old.
