According to reports from Indian media, an incident occurred at a private hospital in Gujarat, India, where a doctor was assaulted by the family members of a patient after requesting that they remove their footwear before entering the emergency room.
CCTV footage from the emergency room shows several men standing near a woman lying on a hospital bed. Moments later, the doctor enters and asks them to remove their shoes, leading to a confrontation.
The situation escalated into a heated exchange between the family members and the doctor. Despite efforts by the patient, who was lying on the bed, and nursing staff to diffuse the situation, they too were attacked.
Authorities have since arrested three individuals in connection with the assault.
