All Divisional Secretaries across Sri Lanka have been summoned to Colombo today (22) to receive detailed briefings on the government’s development programs for 2026 and the ‘Prajashakthi’ rural development initiative.

The meeting, scheduled to take place at the main hall of Temple Trees, will be held under the patronage of the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake. During the discussion, Divisional Secretaries will be extensively briefed on the implementation of the Prajashakthi program, the government’s flagship initiative aimed at eradicating rural poverty at the grassroots level.

In addition, the sessions will focus on several key areas, including the need for public service reforms, the evolving role of Divisional Secretaries in national development, and the integration of digital systems and digital spaces within the Prajashakthi program.

The role of Divisional Secretaries in the Digital Economy Program will also be highlighted, along with their expected active involvement in the ‘Ratam Ekata’ national mission, which seeks to eliminate bribery, corruption, and the spread of toxic drugs throughout the country.
