Three opposition MPs who voted with the government are expected to be appointed as ministers in the coming weeks. Mr. A.H.M. Fawzi, Mr. Kumar Welgama, and Mr. Anura Priyadarshana Yapa make up the trio.

Many speculated that after the government’s successful results, these three would be appointed to ministerial positions. However, reliable sources indicate that despite their complying with the government, these three will not be given Ministerial portfolios as indicated by a high-ranking Pohottuwa member.

Mr Basil Rajapakse and other senior Pohottuwa stalwarts have met the President on numerous occasions and made written requests to provide cabinet ministries to a list of Pohottuwa Mps, which the President has yet to fulfil.

However many concerned pohottuwa MPs has complained to the National organiser of Pohottuwa about this rumour of the ‘trio’ would be made Ministers.

The sources connected with the government commenting in this regards indicated this ‘trio’ would not get ministerial positions however the priority would be to appoint pohottuwa MPs as ministers.
