Controversy Erupts Over Employee Transportation at Benji Garment Factory in Bingiriya
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A dispute emerged this morning concerning the employee transportation arrangements at the ‘Benji’ garment factory in Bingiriya, Kurunegala.

The incident reportedly involved two members of the National People’s Power Party (NPP), who allegedly urged the factory management to modify the existing transportation system.

During the visit, a group of individuals confronted the NPP members, blocking their path. The group claimed they had supported the NPP in the previous election but expressed disapproval of the pressure being placed on a private entity regarding transportation matters.

Meanwhile, those currently managing the transportation services at the factory stated that the NPP members were responding to complaints about irregularities in the institution’s transportation system. The members asserted they were there to investigate these allegations.
