The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court has granted bail to former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon, who had been remanded on suspicion of involvement in the assault on the ‘Gota Go Gama’ protest at Galle Face in 2022.
The order was issued by Colombo Fort Magistrate Nilupuli Lankapura after reviewing submissions made by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the defense counsel.
