The collection of parking fees in Colombo City will resume from today (23), the Municipal Commissioner announced.
The Standing Committee on Finance and Management of Parking Lots has decided that parking fees will be collected as usual starting from 6.00 a.m.
Parking fees had been temporarily suspended from the 18th due to long vehicle queues near fuel stations and congestion in the surrounding areas.
However, the Colombo Municipal Council stated that the collection of fees is being resumed following observations that the queues have reduced. This improvement comes after fuel distribution began according to the QR code system implemented by the government, which organizes fuel issuance based on vehicle numbers.
