CID Conducted Body Search of Salle in Front of All Detainees! Confirmed at Human Rights Commission! I Sri Lanka Latest News

The wife of retired Major General Suresh Salle, former head of the State Intelligence Service, along with Suresh Salle himself, his legal team, and officials of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), have been summoned to the Human Rights Commission to examine evidence related to allegations of torture during his custody at the CID.

The legal team representing Suresh Salle stated that CID officials admitted that he was subjected to a body search in front of other detainees on March 8.

Accordingly, the officials have been instructed to submit the standard procedures for such searches, relevant reports and CCTV footage of searches conducted in 2026, the names of the officers who carried out the search on Suresh Salle on March 8, and documents related to the detention order, before the 26th.
