The Sanstha Cement Company has announced that the price of a bag of cement has increased by more than Rs. 175. Prices of other cement brands have also risen in parallel.

According to the company, a bag of Sanstha cement was previously sold at Rs. 1,750 and will now increase to Rs. 1,925. However, a company spokesperson noted that retail prices may vary, and the cost of a bag when purchased at retail is expected to be around Rs. 1,950.

Meanwhile, the construction sector in Sri Lanka is facing a serious crisis, according to M. Darrington Paul, President of the National Construction Association of Sri Lanka.

He emphasized that the government must take immediate steps to formulate a program addressing the current situation, adding that the construction industry has collapsed due to the ongoing war situation.
