The President’s proposal to re-appoint the Cabinet subcommittee on Cost of Living has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The goal of the proposal is to advise the Cabinet of Ministers on practical and policy decisions that will keep the cost of living stable.
The Cabinet subcommittee on Cost of Living will therefore consist of the following members.
- President Gotabaya Rajapaksa – (Chairman)
- Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe
- Minister of Fisheries Douglas Devananda
- Minister of Transport and Highways Bandula Gunawardana
- Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera
- Minister of Plantation Industries Ramesh Pathirana
- Minister of Electricity and Power Kanchana Wijesekera
- Minister of Trade, Commerce, and Food Security Nalin Fernando
The Food Security Committee was also appointed with Cabinet approval.
The committee includes the Secretaries of the respective Ministries, with the Minister of Trade, Commerce, and Food Security Nalin Fernando serving as Chair.
