The Cabinet has announced that it will review the Supreme Court’s decision regarding Deshbandu Tennakone and will share its stance within the next two days.
Regardless of the Cabinet’s decision, Deshbandu Tennakone cannot serve as the Inspector General of Police until the case against him is resolved, according to former Bar Association President and President’s lawyer, Mr Saliya Peiris.
Mr. Peiris emphasized that no one can act against the Supreme Court’s decision, stating that ignoring it would be an insult to the judiciary.
