Harsha Gunaratne, the elder brother of the ‘Mawrata’ National Newspaper’s Editorial Director and Editor-in-Chief, Thushara Gunaratne, has passed away suddenly.
An old boy of Nalanda College, Mr Harsha Gunaratne, was the son of the late Elmo Gunaratne, a senior journalist widely regarded as one of Sri Lanka’s most distinguished newspaper professionals.
His remains will lie for public respects from 5.00 p.m. on Thursday at the Jayaratne ‘Respect’ Parlour in Borella. The funeral is scheduled to take place at 4.00 p.m. on Friday at the Borella General Cemetery.
At the time of his passing, he was 63 years old and was serving at Sri Lanka Cricket.
