Bribery Commission Seizes 12 More Illegally Registered Vehicles in Customs Evasion Probe
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Bribery Commission has taken custody of 12 additional vehicles as part of its ongoing investigation into vehicles registered with the Department of Motor Traffic without proper customs clearance.

These vehicles were seized on charges of corruption, specifically for being registered without undergoing the mandatory customs procedures.

The latest seizures include one jeep, six Mitsubishi Montero jeeps, three Toyota jeeps, one Land Cruiser Prado jeep, and a Nissan double cab.

According to the Commission, the investigation is being conducted using advanced scientific and technical methods to determine how these corrupt practices occurred and to assess the financial loss incurred by the government.

Furthermore, the Commission revealed that 15 other vehicles—illegally registered and responsible for causing a government loss of Rs. 597,189,323—have also been taken into custody and handed over to the Customs Department for further investigation.
