President of All Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association N. K. Mr. Jayawardena said bakery products prices cannot reduced even though the domestic gas price was reduced..
He also mentioned that about 75% of bakery manufacturers use diesel, firewood and electricity.
Mr. Jayawardena said that only less than 2000 people use gas out of the total number of bakeries which are about seven thousand.
He also mentioned that only if the value of the dollar falls further and the prices of wheat flour, margarine, eggs etc. decrease, relief will be given to the people in the future.
