In the all-party discussion called by the President, the opposition made a request to present the proposals that should be presented by the government side and accordingly, the speaker presented a number of such proposals today and as a progressive opposition, we would like to use those proposals and participate in good faith said by the opposition leader. Sri Lanka Latest News

The government should be created on the basis of people’s sovereignty and people’s sovereignty and when the 13th amendment is discussed, the problem of who for whom will arise and today there are no people’s representatives in the local government bodies and the reason for this is the current government’s fear of elections. The opposition leader also said to give the opportunity to this electoral mandate.

Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, said that the most important preliminary step is to give space for a mandate in the area of the provincial councils and that the approval of the parliament can be given quickly.

The opposition leader said this while making a reply to the President’s statement in Parliament today.

There, the opposition leader said that the president, who was elected by 134 members of parliament, has a duty to give space to the country’s mandate and said that even though the president raised a voice for democracy when he was in the opposition, that it hand  now it as been stopped now which cannot be accepted.

Therefore, Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, said that they should be given the opportunity to go to an election and give space to a mandate and avoid actions that make the people uneasy and not implement state terrorism today as they opposed state terrorism then.

Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the opposition leader, said that as an opposition, the Samagi Jana Balawega will not interfere at all times and will progressively agree to anything that is good from the people’s point of view.
