The accident took place near the Mahailuppallama Seed Research Institute in the Ipalogama Police Domain at around 5.20 am today (24).
A passenger transport bus which was running from Kekirawa to Anuradhapura has been involved in the accident.
A wild elephant from the premises of the Seed Research Institute broke the fence and came to the road to go back to the forest and at that time this bus collided.
In that accident, 4 people including the driver, conductor and two passengers of the bus were injured and hospitalized.
A slogan on the crashed bus read, “Come enjoy the experience of the air on the ground.”
The Ipalogama police are conducting further investigations regarding the accident.
