Dr. Thusita Wijemanna’s note in that regard is as follows.
From the year 1994 till now, Ruwanwella Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society has been controlled by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, the United People’s United Front, the United People’s Freedom Alliance or the Sri Lanka podu jana peramuna.
Putting an end to their corrupt regimes, Samagi Jana Balawegaya achieved a historic victory, i.e. the ruling power was gained today (2023-12-24) by having full power (9/9 board members).
I would like to express my respectful thanks to all those who have supported me in various ways to achieve this victory through various obstacles and I also emphasize to them the responsibility assigned to the new board of directors to maintain control in an exemplary manner.
