An open verdict on the dead body found in Rathgama Lagoon! Body parts sent to CID for further investigation! Sri Lanka Latest News

Rathgama police said that Assistant Forensic Officer of Galle Karapitiya Teaching Hospital D.C. Priyanath, who conducted the post-mortem examination of the dead body of a married man, found floating in the lagoon behind the Rathgama crematorium, has sent the body parts to the government coroner for further examination and gave an open verdict regarding the death . A married man named Gonapinuwalage Shehan Nilanga (28), a resident of Rathgama Gammedda area, has died. The post-mortem examination of the deceased was conducted at the Galle Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.

The police said that the deceased had been consuming alcohol with 10 friends. He received a phone call while drinking with friends. He left the place about an hour later. His friends did not find him, and the police found his dead body floating in the Rathgama Lagoon the next afternoon.

The body of the deceased has been identified by the relative. He is a person who returned back from overseas.  Police say that he is married for the second time and his wife is pregnant.
