The Bureau of Geology and Mining said that an earthquake was reported in the deep sea 310 km off the coast of Batticaloa at around 1.30 am today (11).
The Bureau of Geology and Mines said the earthquake measured 4.65 on the Richter scale and that there was no tsunami threat from the earthquake.
