All the opposition parties signed a joint declaration in Parliament today against the ongoing efforts to postpone the elections.

All parties including Samagi Jana Balawega, parties independent from the government, Tamil National Alliance and Muslim parties participated in this event held by Parliamentary Committee No. 8.

However, JVP did not participate in this event.

But the likes of Duminda Nagamuwa of the Peratugami party, who do not represent the parliament, were also seen present at the parliament to sign this petition today.

On this occasion, Dylan Perera stated that JVP leader Mr. Anura Dissanayake informed him that he could not participate because he was engaged in other activities, and that his party also protested the postponement of the elections.
