Due to lack of water in that two-acre field, the crop has been destroyed. Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Agriculture, said that despite the water released from the Samanala reservoir, the fields in Agunakolapalla have not received water yet.
The minister also mentioned that he decided to set aside his field, which was about to grow well, for feeding the cows.
“Even if my field is deserted, I will not set it on fire. The minister said that I freed the field for cattle to eat.
