The intelligence agencies have taken steps to suspend the services of a police sergeant who was on duty at the Katana Police Station on charges of dereliction of duty in relation to the Easter attack in 2019.
The Police Media Spokesperson’s Office said that the relevant decision was taken as per the instructions of the Inspector General of Police.
A preliminary investigation has been conducted against the officer and a charge sheet has been forwarded under 12 charges regarding disciplinary violations.
The Police Media Spokesman’s Office added that the IGP decided to dismiss the police officer as he had admitted his guilt in the first instance.
