The executive committee of the opposition unity discussed at length today the agreement between the International Monetary Fund and the government and the extremely weak nature of the agreement. (Sri Lanka Latest News)

The leader of the opposition said that although the negotiations between the International Monetary Fund and the government are correct, the relevant negotiations have been conducted unsuccessfully and dishonestly, and therefore the government is taking adverse decisions for the country and the people.

The leader of the opposition said that he is completely against taking decisions that are harmful to the country and the people, but the President, the Minister of State for Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank initially said that they will not restructure the domestic debt, but later they contradicted it and said that they are following a duplicitous approach.

Professor G.L Peiris said that the Parliament has not been informed about the relevant discussions and this is misleading the country.
