Three girls have gone missing after a boat overturned in the Suriyawewa Mahavelikadaara Lake.
The police said that 8 people were traveling in the boat at the time of the accident.
5 people including a baby who were traveling in the boat were rescued by local residents and they were hospitalized.
The police said that search operations have been started to find the three missing girls.
Police say that the condition of the 8-month-old baby who was rescued from drowning is not serious.
Three girls aged 18, 17 and 10 have gone missing.
Police say that these people are residents of Kurunegala area and have come to this area for a relative’s event.
