A special meeting was held between Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and renowned Singaporean diplomat Kishore Mahbubani at the Asian Research Institute of the National University of Singapore, Sri Lanka Latest News reports.
During the meeting, the leaders engaged in an exchange of views on policy formulation, governance, and peacebuilding.
Highlighting Singapore’s economic transformation, which he noted was the result of a strong policy formulation process, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa emphasized that Sri Lanka could gain valuable insights from Singapore’s experience.
Premadasa also invited Mr. Kishore Mahbubani to collaborate with Sri Lankan state leaders, policymakers, and members of parliament, sharing his expertise in crafting effective, people-centered policies and developing human capacity.
Mr. Kishore Mahbubani has served as Singapore’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, including two terms as President of the United Nations Security Council, and is the founding Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
