Anura’s mark
During the final rally of the general election campaign, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake made a humorous and memorable statement: “I want to win this time, make all cry over…” True to his words, the election results announced on Thursday marked a historic milestone, with the Malimawa party achieving an unprecedented victory in Sri Lanka’s history.
Malimawa secured 159 seats, obtaining a two-thirds majority, while the main opposition, Sajith Premadasa’s Samagi Jana Balawegaya, won 40 seats. Remarkably, the United National Party (UNP), led by former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, once again failed to elect a single MP. Only three members of Ranil’s faction entered Parliament, and even they represented other allied parties.
A significant milestone of this election was the first time since the introduction of the proportional voting system that a single party secured a two-thirds majority. Even J.R. Jayewardene, who achieved a five-sixths majority in 1977, could not achieve this under proportional representation. Similarly, while former Presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa and Gotabaya Rajapaksa formed two-thirds governments in 2010 and 2019 respectively, they co-opted MPs from other parties. In contrast, President Dissanayake’s Malimawa party achieved its majority independently, reshaping the country’s electoral history.
The defeated lot
Very significantly this year’s election saw that the people rejected many of the ministers who had remained in the parliament until now. It is almost 60. The list looks as follows.

Vijay’s challenge
Last week we made an extraordinary revelation through ‘Mawrata’ news that Thalapathy Vijay, an extremely popular actor in Tamil Nadu, is ready to enter politics, and that more than 3 lakh Dravidian people participated in his first meeting, and that he made a controversial statement regarding the Tamil people of Sri Lanka.
The news we published is as follows…
Tamil Nadu’s famous actor Thalapathy Vijay, who assured that he will enter public politics in the presence of millions of people, has taken steps to pass an extremely controversial resolution regarding Sri Lanka.
That is through the adoption of a resolution that an independent referendum should be held to provide a permanent political solution to the ‘Ealam’ for the Tamil people in Sri Lanka.
In the executive committee meeting of the Tamilaga Vetra Kazagam (Odhana) party led by Thalapathy Vijay, steps were taken to adopt 26 other resolutions including this referendum resolution.
That was on last Sunday.
Among these proposals were to discuss Sri Lanka’s foreign policy with the Tamil Nadu government, to appoint a Tamil national as the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, to allow Indian fishermen to fish in the North Sea and not to arrest them, etc.
Thalapathy Vijay is a Tamil Nadu actor who has sympathized with Tamil Eelam call in Sri Lanka.
During the war in the north of Sri Lanka, Vijay directly sympathized with the LTTE organization. Not only did he speak in favor of Leader Prabhakaran, but he was also known as someone who spoke against the war.
During the war, Thalapathy Vijay was also known as an actor who was at the forefront of the protests in Tamil Nadu demanding an end to the war.
Accordingly, political analysts are of the opinion that with the adoption of these proposals by Thalapathy Vijay and his massive popular appeal in Tamil Nadu, the current President Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake will have to face a crisis based on the problem of the North.’
Since then it has been like this
Tamil Nadu is an Indian state that has been closely linked with Sri Lankan politics since then. In the past, the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu did politics in Tamil Nadu by highlighting the political rights of the Tamil people living in the North East of Sri Lanka and their right of a homeland. M.G.R. who gained power in Tamil Nadu, Or Chief Ministers like Ramachandran and Jayalalitha used their acting and popularity to gain power in Tamil Nadu. M.G.R. who gained power in this way, and Jayalalitha greatly supported the LTTE under the leadership of Prabhakaran. Helped LTTE members by bringing them to Tamil Nadu and given military training. LTTE was financed in Tamil Nadu. They were allowed to open camps.
Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, who have gained political power since then, supported the ‘Tiger’ ideology by talking about the Tamil people in the north. Indications are at present, Thalapathy Vijay is preparing to grab the baton that was left by MGR and Jayalalitha and grab the political power in Tamil Nadu. Last week, through the in the news of ‘Mawrata’, we disclosed information about this political anointing of Thalapathy Vijay because it has shown signs of reaching a point that cannot be taken for granted. Or to open the eyes of those who are governing in this regard.
Anura has seen this
It was reported that our efforts have been successful because the President had seen the original news that we had revealed and instructed his officers to investigate the matter immediately. Also, the President was personally engaged in searching for information in this regard. There, the President had come to know that the political atmosphere being built in Tamil Nadu through Vijay was not very favourable for Sri Lanka. Many people who spoke on the phone also pointed out to the President that the events developing in Tamil Nadu will harm Sri Lanka in the future.
Less than 24 hours after we revealed the news, another incident happened in the North Sea. It was with the Navy taking action to arrest a large number of Indian fishermen who came for fishing activities in the North Sea without permission. With this incident, the politics of Tamil Nadu was once again stirred up. There, the first stone to this debate was thrown by Seeman’s party, which is considered to be the political party that gave Prabhakaran the biggest strength in Tamil Nadu during the war. Seeman is an extremely popular character in Tamil Nadu cinema. This time Seeman supports Vijay’s new political party. Accordingly, Seaman, who immediately wrote a letter to Indian Prime Minister Modi, said that the central government of India should immediately impose sanctions on Sri Lanka based on the issue of Indian fishermen. Also, Seaman emphasized in his letter that the central government of India should work to take over the island of Kachchativ back to India.
Another letter
A few hours after Seeman wrote his letter to Modi, the current chief minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin sent a letter addressing Indian Foreign Minister S. Jeyshankar, emphasizing that the problem of Tamil Nadu fishermen should be solved immediately.
Accordingly, this time we are ready to give another warning to the government through the ‘Inside Politics’ column. That is Thalapathy Vijay’s entry into Sri Lanka’s north-east issue is a very dangerous sign in future politics.
President to the Middle East
Right now, everyone is waiting to see what the new president’s foreign policy will be like. There has been a lot of discussion in the political field, especially regarding the country the President will visit first. It is a common tradition when a new president or prime minister of Sri Lanka first visits India, the regional powerhouse as well as its neighbour. After the appointment of the President, Indian Foreign Minister Mr Jeyshankar came to Sri Lanka and made an official invitation to the President to visit India. The President had also taken steps to accept Jeyshankar’s invitation.
But in the meantime, since the day the President came to power, he had arranged to hold many rounds of special negotiations with several countries in the Middle East. According to the information obtained by the ‘inside politics’ column, it is said that the main negotiator in the negotiations held by the Malima government with several countries in the Middle East is a world-renowned Sri Lankan professor close to Malima living in a Western country. Despite living in a Western country, this Sri Lankan professor is said to have special connections with Middle Eastern countries. Accordingly, with the intervention of this professor, the heads of the government are discussing with the Middle Eastern countries about getting cheap oil.
In a recent speech by the President, it was also said that high-level discussions have started between Sri Lanka and the states regarding the import of fuel. Accordingly, with the intervention of this professor, many rounds of negotiations have been held regarding getting cheap fuel to Sri Lanka. If somehow these negotiations are successful, it will not only be a big victory for Sri Lanka but also a big victory for the government through the provision of cheap fuel.
Accordingly, unofficial news that is currently being discussed in the political sphere says that the president will go to the Middle East as his first trip to make this oil deal a success after the formation of the new government. Currently, these talks are being held with three countries in the Middle East, and it is said that the President will visit one of them first. In that case, the President will choose the Middle East as his first visit, and India will be chosen as his second visit, according to unofficial sources. If so, the President will sign this oil import agreement as his first agreement in the Middle East. On the other hand, if such a thing happens, it will be possible to see the end of the Indian pilgrimage, a tradition practised by the Presidents and Prime Ministers of Sri Lanka.
IMF visit pushed back
The International Monetary Fund was scheduled to visit Sri Lanka on the 14th of November, the day of the general election to review the release of the third tranche to Sri Lanka. When they decided on this date, the date for holding the general election in Sri Lanka had not been fixed. But after the election commission decided to hold the general election on November 14, the financial fund decided to delay its trip to Sri Lanka by another two days. That is the reason that it has become a rule for the representatives of the financial fund not to visit the country on the day of an election. Accordingly, the IMF delegates will arrive in Sri Lanka on Saturday (16). Thus IMF representatives are scheduled to conduct a second review of the loan installment provided by the financial fund.
However, before the IMF delegation arrived in Sri Lanka, several rounds of discussions were held with the Sri Lankan delegation through Zoom technology. There the IMF representatives had mainly asked the government representatives about how to generate revenue in the co ming year. There, the government representatives had taken steps to report to the representatives of the financial fund a long description of the new ways of earning income that the government has planned for the coming year. However, although there was an exchange of views regarding the reduction of the payee tax paid and VAT, it was learned that the financial fund has made some amendments to the proposals presented by the government. The news is that the representatives of the financial fund will come to Sri Lanka after preparing the memorandum of agreement reached in this Zoom discussion.
Arugambe saga
Ahead of the general election, an event that shook the country was when the major countries of the world, led by the United States, issued a travel notice to Sri Lanka, warning that there might be an attack on the Arugambe area. There we made a special disclosure and said that this disclosure was made by the Israeli Mossad intelligence service and the American FBI and this news was informed to Sri Lanka. However, as Sri Lanka’s tourism season is about to begin, due to this announcement issued by The, many people thought that this year’s tourism season would be the same as during the Easter attack period. However, the government had immediately taken necessary measures to prevent the situation by taking security measures. Several people were arrested especially based on the incident.
However, a few days after the revelation of this attack plan, CNN The television service made another big revelation. It is said that the assassination plan of US presidential candidate Donald Trump and the Arugambay attack plan were prepared by the same group. It is a person named Farhad Shakeri, he is an Iranian national. The US Department of Justice had announced that he is currently staying in Iran. The department further stated that this information was revealed by two people named Carlsley Rivera and Jonathan Loadhall, who were arrested in New York on suspicion of the Trump assassination plan. The department had revealed that initially, this group had executed the assassination plan thinking that Trump would lose the presidential election, they had planned to shoot and kill him after the election.
Who is this Bilal?
The Arugambe attack plan was prepared after that. In particular, it was revealed that the Iranian group had identified Arugambay as the easiest place to kill Israelis, and that the plan had been implemented and uncovered there.
After this information was reported, the security forces of Sri Lanka managed to arrest another special person. It is Bilal Mohammed with dual citizenship of Maldives and Sri Lanka. The website ‘The Edition’, a well-known media in the Maldives, revealed that one woman was arrested along with this person, and they were identified as frequent visitors to Sri Lanka. In 2017, it was also revealed that Bilal was arrested for murder.
However, after the arrest of all these people, the government made a special request to the American Embassy and said that the travel ban imposed on Sri Lanka should be lifted as security has now been established. In this regard, Foreign Minister Mr. Vijitha Herath took steps to inform the American Embassy in writing. Accordingly, keeping the vote close, the US Embassy took steps to lift the travel ban imposed on Sri Lanka. It was interpreted by many as a gift to the government from the United States in anticipation of the vote. However, the American government took steps to lift this travel ban more than anything else after the Sri Lankan government took steps to ensure the security of the Arugambe area.
Pandora and Panama
Recently, a controversial topic in Sri Lanka was the Pandora Papers, Offshore Leaks, Bahamas Papers, Panama Papers and Paradise Papers, the names of the world’s millionaires who revealed their wealth hidden in other countries. It was linked to Sri Lanka because many of the country’s leading millionaires and businessmen had reported that they had made many undisclosed investments in foreign countries in this way. With the disclosure of these reports at that time, the then-opposition made it a political topic, so the then-government reluctantly took steps to investigate this matter. Statements were recorded from some. Accordingly, the people of the country thought that how this money was found would be revealed, but nothing happened after the statements were recorded. The Panama Papers and Pandora Papers cases were suppressed because the media also abandoned discussing them later.
However, when Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake assumed the office of President, one of the things that many people requested from him was that the thieves should be punished and the millions and billions of wealth stolen from this country and hidden in foreign countries should be brought back to this country. Accordingly, the President was aware of who are the Sri Lankans who invested money abroad in this manner last week. Also, according to the request received to search for them, the President has decided to search for them.
The list of names of people claiming the wealth hidden abroad by millionaire Sri Lankans has been revealed by the ‘International Union of Investigative Journalists’. Accordingly, it is the responsibility of the government to find out how these famous Sri Lankan businessmen in the country earned this money, how they took it out of the country, in which countries they have invested it, etc. If the money was earned illegally, if it was stolen out of the country, if it was hidden in other countries illegally, it is the responsibility of the government to find the culprits and punish them regardless of rank or friendship.
Below is the list of people who have invested money in foreign countries revealed by the Panama Papers, Pandora Papers etc.
