Sajith greeted Ranil with folded hands without shaking hands on the day of handing over nominations for the presidential election. UNP social media seems to have got hurt badly. During the 2015 presidential election, when the then President Mahinda Rajapaksa went to shake hands with Maithripala, who was the common candidate of the opposition, Maithripala saluted with both hands folded. Maithri later said on the stage that he did not shake Mahinda’s hand because he was afraid that Mahinda would shake his hand and do black magic on his hand. Maithri said that he knew that Mahinda had so much hatred for him.

Sajith knows best why he didn’t shake hands with Ranil. But it cannot be said that Sajith did not know that Ranil has a hatred for him similar to the one Mahinda had with Maitri. Ranil came to parliament from the national list, became the prime minister and the president, to break up the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and converge it to the U.N.P. to finish off Sajit.

‘Operation Sajaba’

That is the name given by Ranil’s team to get the MPs of Samagi Jana Balavegaya. The two strongmen of this team are Harin and Manusha. Diana was entrusted to take the rights of the ‘Samagi Jana Balavegaya’ party to the courts and confuse the members of the Samagi Jana Balavegaya by saying that she would take the party’s rights at the last minute.

‘When Ranil’s candidacy was announced, the SJB MPs will break away like a tsunami…’

That’s what Hareen and Manushala said.

‘In the end, Sajith will lose the party too…’

Diana cried.

Harin was afraid that he would lose if he contested the 2020 general election. So he requested Sajith for the national list. Sajith did not give national list slots even to minority party candidates and gave it to Hareen to be an MP. Harin came to the parliament from the national list and raised his voice against Gotabaya. He raised the ‘Sir Fail’ campaign. Hareen and Manusha both accused Gota and Gota’s security chiefs of involvement in the Easter attack. Harin was admitted to the hospital saying that the Secret Police was coming to record a statement from Harin based on his allegations. Harin said that he was going to be arrested. While Harin was in the hospital, Sajith and Samagi Jana Balawegaya MPs looked after him. Once, Ranil came to see Harin at Navaloka Hospital and told a strange story. The following is the story reported by the media.

There are preparations to arrest Harin in connection with the Easter attack. But I now know that during the time of Minister Harin, an investigation has been started to look for corruption in a project of his Digital Ministry…’

After this, both Harin and Manusha kept their mouth shut. The two of them had challenged the minister Aluthgamage to a debate on Easter attacks, and in the debate, they accepted what the minister said. The Catholic Church and Catholics were suspicious of the way Harin and Manusha behaved in the debate. When the struggle came, Harin and Manusha pulled a big burden in the march organized by Samagi Jana Balawega from Kandy to Colombo. It was then that Gota proposed to Sajith to take over as Prime Minister position. Sajith made a condition that Gota should give him presidential powers to take over the prime ministership and Sajith told Gota that a general election should be called immediately. Even then, the Rajapaksa family was pressuring Gota to make Ranil the Prime Minister. Ranil told Gota that if he was given the post of Prime Minister, Harin Manusha and many Samagi Jana Balawega MPs would join him.

Harin and Manusha, who campaigned as ‘Gotha Fail’, were set up by Ranil. The investigations against Hareen and Manusha were suppressed at the same time. Ranil became the Prime Minister. Both of them appointed ministers. Since then, the project of both of them was to break the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and finish off Sajit. They both said they accepted the challenge. They accepted a challenge. That challenge is to break the members of Samagi Jana Balavega and finish off Sajit.

When Harin took over the Ministry of Tourism, many countries of the world, even India, had not lifted the Covid ban imposed on foreign tourists. Manusha accepted foreign jobs even when there was a world travel ban. India lifted the Covid travel ban on November 22, 2022. Other countries including Europe also lifted the ban after August 2022. Some countries removed it in July. Harin and Manusha became ministers in May 2022. Harin and Manusha became ministers in May 2022. After the ban was lifted, tourists started visiting not only Sri Lanka but all over the world.

Foreign workers who came back to their countries after losing their foreign jobs during the Covid period started looking for jobs in foreign countries once again. Dollars started coming in from tourism and foreign workers as the COVID-19 travel ban lifted and the world returned to normal. It is neither Harin’s nor Manusha’s magic. The best examples are the Maldives and Thailand. The Ministry of Tourism of the Maldives announced on April 07, 2023, that the number of foreign tourists who came to the Maldives by 2023 was the same as when the 2020 Covid period. Also, the tourism industry in Thailand says that the tourism industry in Thailand fell to 6.7% after COVID-19 and increased to 28.15% after the lifting of the COVID-19 ban. Harin and Manusha are not ministers in these countries.

What Hareen and Manusha did was not to seek dollars for the country, but to conspire to break the unity of the people. Operation Sajaba started for that. Diana kept the dual citizenship and scared the MPs of the Samagi Jana Balavegaya by claiming that the Samagi Jana Balavega is owned by her.

Ranil during the time of leader and the UNP went to court after MP Rohitha Bogollagama joined the government and took the post of minister. When the constitution clearly states that switching parties is illegal, then Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva ruled in favour of Rohit’s party switch. After that, dozens of MPs left and , Ranil went to court against them.

But against Hareen Manusha and Diana, Sajith took the necessary disciplinary measures in the party. After Sarath Silva approved Rohitha Bogollagama’s party change, the courts did not rule against any MP who went from the opposition to the government. Everyone was surprised by the Supreme Court’s decision against Nasir Ahmed, who left the Muslim Congress and joined Gota’s government. The decision against Diana’s dual citizenship scared Hareen and Manusha. But both of them were bullying that Sajith would not seek the presidential election. As if struck by lightning while conducting ‘Operation Sajaba’, the Supreme Court revoked Harin and Manusha’s MP posts saying that they acted against party discipline.

It is a fateful incident that Diana, Harin and Manusha’s MP positions were abolished after ‘Operation Sajaba’ commenced. Ranil had only Vajira as MP from the U.N.P. Hareen, Manusha and, Diana later joined the U.N.P. Ranil, who went to break the Samagi Jana Balavegaya, lost three of his MPs. This is what Dittadhamma means to pay for painful karma.
